A 7-Day Practice: Writing with the Body
For Women in Mid-Life and Beyond.
Deep loneliness is something many of us know well. It can begin in childhood, when care feels distant or inconsistent, and it shows up again in adulthood when someone we trust pulls away or when life strips away our familiar comforts.
Even when all of the external trappings appear ideal. Even when logically, cognitively, we know we have support in our current world, good marriage, loving friends, solid career. Yet, our nervous system can continue to feel tangled, uncertain and still processing old, core voids that drive everything in our life today.
For many of us, alcohol, busyness, or self-reliance became ways to protect against that ache. We told ourselves: I don’t need anyone. And yet, underneath, the longing for connection remained.
Sobriety—or any season of stripping away our shields—can make this loneliness more vivid. Without buffers, it can feel cavernous, raw, and even frightening. But it can also be an invitation:
- To stop running from the ache.
- To meet the younger part of ourselves with compassion.
- To risk wanting and needing again, even when it feels tender.
Together, we can begin to approach loneliness differently—not as a failure or flaw, but as a place we can meet ourselves with tenderness. A place where new connection can quietly take root.
We can stop numbing that deep, internal longing to be seen, known, understood – by ourselves – and can be met there by other women.
Meeting Loneliness with Compassion: A 7-Day Practice of Embodied Writing
If this resonates with you, you’re not alone. Let’s explore it together.
Join me for this guided practice where we delve more deeply, with compassion and tenderness, into that childhood place of wanting, of loneliness, and of void.
We will work with reflections, embodied practices and writing prompts in a dosed way, over the course of 7-days, to gently support new growth from this old void.
It’s possible that leaning into this hurt place could be the opportunity we have been yearning for that allows for a deeper sense of belonging within ourselves and a new ability to connect with others.
Are you ready to to meet your need with bravery and hold your loneliness with new compassion?
Come explore how the void of loneliness can become fertile ground for intimacy, creativity, or deeper belonging.
